Effective 7 April 2025
We keep this short and plain. Here is exactly what we collect and why.
snff ("snff", "we", "us") operates snff.io, a link aggregation platform incorporated in the United States.
Contact: privacy@snff.io
We collect only what is necessary to run the service:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | Account authentication and service communications |
| Username & display name | Your public snff URL and profile |
| Bio / headline text | Shown on your public profile (you write it) |
| Profile photo | Displayed on your profile (you upload it) |
| Links you add | Core service — we list them on your profile page |
| View counts | Aggregated page-view counter shown on your profile |
| IP address (transient) | Security, abuse prevention; not stored long-term |
We do not collect, view, or store the content of any third-party platform that users link to. We have no visibility into what exists behind the URLs on your profile.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not send marketing emails without explicit opt-in.
snff does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. We do not share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioural advertising.
We use the following sub-processors to operate the service:
Each provider is bound by a Data Processing Agreement. We do not share your data with any other third parties for commercial purposes.
We use a single session cookie for authentication. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. Basic, anonymised page-view analytics may be collected to operate the view counter feature — this data is never tied to identifiable individuals.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this will prevent you from staying logged in.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law.
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
These rights are available to residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (CDPA), Colorado (CPA), and other applicable US states. To exercise any right, email privacy@snff.io. We will respond within 45 days (with one permitted 45-day extension where reasonably necessary).
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, grants you the rights described in Section 8. snff does not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA, and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. In the past 12 months we have not sold any personal information.
For CCPA enquiries, contact: privacy@snff.io
snff is not directed at children. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, contact us immediately at privacy@snff.io and we will delete it promptly.
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure.
We will notify you of material changes via email or by posting a prominent notice on the Service. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
